Mid Atlantic Timberland Group - FSC Certification

Mid Atlantic Timberland Group provides forest land management services to timberland owners seeking Forest Stewardship Certification (FSC) from the US Forest Stewardship Council.

Landowners and companies that sell timber or forest products seek FSC certification as a way to verify to consumers that they have practised forestry in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable way, as consistent with FSC standards. As a result, FSC-certified landowners and companies enjoy access to better markets for timber, the ability to take advantage of the carbon credit market and worldwide recognition as practitioners of responsible and sustainable forestry.

Trusted environmental organizations including Greenpeace, Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund support an encourage FSC certification, as do consumers wishing to support healthy forests and communities. Thanks in part to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program of the US Green Building Council, there has been a surge in the specification of FSC-certified wood for use in “green” construction projects.

F1, F2 and F3 grades are available and the logs are available with 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 clear sides. Diameters range from eight inches and up and lengths from six feet and up. All of the logs Pennco procures are carefully inspected to ensure they meet the highest standards for color, texture, size and character as well as for cleanliness.
